IMPHAL, Jan 31: The body of a minor girl was recovered from under Khuga Bridge this evening along the Phaijol to Chonlankhong IV Road under Kumbi police.
The victim has been identified as Laishram Sumila alias Echan, 10, daughter of L Amuthoi of Nungu Chandonpokpi Khongbal Leikai.
Police sources informed that the girl went missing since January 22.
She left home to bring back their cattle and remain traceless since.
Police suspected foul play as the victim reportedly sustained injuries on her left eyes and her under garment was manipulated.
The body was retrieved around 7pm late in the evening by the police and deposited at the RIMS mortuary. A case has been registered by the concerned police station.
