IMPHAL, Jan 17: A motorist was hit by a speeding Bolero jeep today at Wangjing Unikhong under Thoubal police at around 1.30 pm . The unconscious man was rushed to Thoubal hospital by police but succumbed at around 2.30 pm. The person is identified as Lunkhosei Baitae, 55, son of (L) Jamhem Baitae of Henken village near Sugnu. When the police came back to recover the NV scooter MN02/A -9430, the vehicle was found missing from the accident spot. The vehicle is not found till the filing of this report.
