IMPHAL, January 5: The Narcotic Cell of Imphal West district has arrested a person on January 3, 2014, identified as Sakhom Leibakmacha Singh, 44, son of (L) S Koibi Singh of Khangabok Part-III, Thoubal district from NH-37 in front of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Khumbong along with one hundred twenty kgs of contraband Ganja and one Tata truck bearing registration No. MN-04N5567, said a press release of the PRO, Manipur Police department, A case has been registered at Patsoi PS for investigation, it said.
Imphal West district police commandos arrested on January 4, two persons identified as Yurnnam Tomba Singh son of (L) Y Tenden Singh of Thongju Part-II and Yambem Thoi Singh, 29 son of (L) Y Khamba Singh of Moirangkampu respectively from North AOC near water reservoir along with 568 numbers of bottles of Gemcodin, 188 numbers of Sviscodin bottles , 188 numbers of Lupicof bottles and one Tata truck bearing registration No. NL-OIK/3538.
A case has been registered at Impha1 PS for investigation, it said.
A combined team of CDO/Thoubal and 15th AR conducted search operation at Pechi area, Yairipok and arrested one cadre of KYKL namely Maibam Chaoba alias Rojen alias Iboton, 31, son of M Komol Singh of Ukhongsang Mayai Leikai and recovered one 9 mm pistol with three live rounds of 9 mm ammunition, it added.
A case has been registered at Yairipok PS for investigation.
A combined team of CDO/Thoubal and 18th Sikh conducted search operation at Sekmaijin area and arrested one cadre of KYKL identified as Athokpam Tomba alias Huikap Tomba Meitei, 45, son of late A Mohori Meitei of Leirongthe1 Pitra Tera Urak and recovered one 9 mm pistol with two live rounds of 9 mm ammunition and one Nokia mobile handset.
A case has been registered at Kakching PS for investigation.
