Verdict of triple murder deferred on February 15

IMPHAL, January 25 (NNN): The verdict on the triple murder case of Dr Kishan, Token and Rajen involving self-styled lieutenant colonel Hopeson Ningshen of NSCN-IM has been defered for the second time till February 15, 2014 as the CBI lawyer appearing for the victims is now on a tour to Mumbai.

CBI Special court at Patiala, New Delhi on Saturday postponed the matter to February 15, 2014 as CBI lawyer AK Singh was reported to be on a tour to Mumbai, joint action committee (JAC) for Dr Kishan, Token and Rajen told Newmai News Network. It said that Superintendent of Police, CBI Manipur branch, Balasubramaniyam besides two persons from the victims’ side were present in the court today.

The CBI court had earlier fixed the pronouncement of the verdict on January 18, but it was deferred till January 25, 2014. On Saturday, it again postponed the matter to February 15.

The CBI registered a case in connection with the triple murder of sub-divisional officer (SDO) of Kasom Khullen, Ukhrul district, Dr Kishan and his two subordinate staff, Token, a Mandal, and driver Rajen after the case was handed over to the investigating agency on January 31, 2010. The final hearing and argument of the case was completed recently in the Special CBI Court after a three-year long trial.
