Bandh relaxed; trade relation suffers

MOREH, Feb 21: The Moreh bandh imposed since 6pm of February 18, 2014 has been relaxed till March 15, from midnight today. However, closure of all trading between the two countries will continue during the period.

This was resolved during a meeting of all community leaders of the sub-division at the office of the Hill Tribal Council, Moreh this afternoon.

It was also resolved that unless the Myanmar authorities provide assurance of the safety of Indians inside their country, the total Moreh bandh and sealing of international border will continue from March 16, 2014.

The leaders further urged all business man from Imphal not venture pass Namphalong and to properly informed the concerned authorities if they have to.
