IMPHAL, February 16(NNN) : BJP, Manipur unit has strongly condemned the reported statement of Manipur chief minister O Ibobi Singh who had told a Delhi based media that the recent attacks on the North Easterners in the national capital as `not racial assaults`.
In a press meet today in Imphal, BJP Manipur unit said Manipur chief minister Ibobi`s statement is an insult to the people of the region. The BJP said that Congress party MP from Manipur Dr Th Meinya had already brought up the issue in the Parliament recent while terming them as `racial attacks`. “Ibobi`s statement shows that there has been no co-ordination among the Congress party leaders as one say something and another leader woud speak different thing,” the BJP stated.
The saffron party then asked the chief minister and the deputy chief minister to meet the Union home minister at the earliest on the matter.
