IMPHAL, February 21: Unidentified persons hurled a hand grenade at the residence of deputy director Tribal Development, Arambam Binodini alias Bino, wife of A Birendrakeshor of Sagolband Moirang Leirak today at around 8 pm.
However, no one was injured in the resultant blast.
The grenade fell in between the residential walls and Laningthou Khamlangba Sanglen.
The blast left a three feet deep and four feet width crater, slightly damaging the residential wall.
High ranking officers of the Imphal West District police including Dr Ak Jhalajit Superintendent of Police, Imphal west soon arrived at the spot and inspected the blast site.
Police have recovered the lever of the hand grenade some few meters away from the blast site on the western side of Laningthou Khamlangba Sanglen.
Local MLA, RK Imo also visited the site and inspected the area.
Meanwhile, Imphal Police have taken up a case regarding the incident.
