Cabinet to discuss opening of more police stations and outposts

IMPHAL, February 3: A state cabinet meeting on February 4 evening will discuss the opening of more police stations and outposts in the state along with other critical agendas.

According to a source, the likely agendas of the meeting include among others, the Manipur Land Revenue and Land Reform (Diversion of Land) Rule, 2014; the Manipur Municipalities (7th amendment) Bill, 2014; withdrawal of Lokayukta Bill, 2011 and the introduction of the Manipur Lokayukta Bill, 2014.

The meeting will also discuss re-organisation of Law Department and engagement of an advocate as additional public prosecutor-cum-additional government advocate (District) on contract basis against vacant sanctioned post.

Further according to the statement, the other agendas to be taken up during the meeting include opening of police station at Vangai range, Churachandpur District and outpost at Maram Centre and Thangal Surung, Senapati district, Chandrakhong Mayai

 Keithel and Seirou, Thoubal District and Uchekon Takhok Mapal and Itham Moirang Purel, Imphal East; opening of Fire Sub-service centre at Noney of Tamenglong district, Saikul of Senapati district and Yairipok of Thoubal district; extension of re-engagement of Solomon Zinkai, joint director, Tribal Research Institute; amendment of MCS, MPS, MFS rule and acquiring of land expansion or establishment of institutional area.
