IMPHAL February 21: Various communities residing in Dewlahland on Friday staged a sit-in -protest against the bomb attack at the residence of Ukhrul MLA Samuel Resom on 19 February which left one person receiving minor injuries.
The sit-in-protest, organised by the Dewlahland Development Association, Dewlahland Women Forum and Dewlahland Youth Club, was staged at Dewlahland.
The protest was staged under the banner ‘We strongly condemn this inhuman culture of bombing in our Dewlahland locality’ and the protestors were holding placards , “Bomb only Kills does not heal, don’t play with bomb, life is precious, revealing power by using bomb is barbaric”, this locality is not a battle field and stop this terrorist act of bomb blast
Speaking to media persons at the sidelines of the sit- in -protest, a women protestor said that they jointly condemned the bomb attack at the residence of Ukhrul MLA Samuel Resom of Dewlahland, 3rd Avenue on which one person identified as Ram Kumar Rai of Kanglatongbi at present staying in Dewlahland received minor injuries.
She further appealed those responsible for the bomb attack to clarify at the earliest and also urged them to not carry out similar kind of bomb attacks in the crowded and residential areas.
