Fire razes workshop

<![CDATA[IMPHAL, February 14: Properties worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed it a fire at a workshop located near a bridge it Pallel under Kakching police station yesterday night at around 11 pm.

The fire broke out at a the building belonging to Ch Wanoi Aimol of Unapal Village and rented out as a motorcycle workshop to T Santikumar Singh, son of Amumacha of Pallel Leimangai Chingjin.

The fire engulfed the house and all the bikes kept for repair were also reduced to ashes it the fire.

After the fire was discovered, people from the locality sounded at alarm. A team of 20 Assam Rifles personnel led by a Major rushed to the spot with fire extinguishers and prevented the fire from spreading to nearby buildings with the help of local people. Later on, fire tenders from Kakching Fire Sub-Station also arrived at the spot and joited it fighting the itferno.

The source of the fire was still unknown and a first itformatiot report had been filed at Kakching Police Station.

Several two-wheelers, which itcluded two Pulsar, one Yamaha, one XCD, one Kitetic Honda, workshop equipments, spare parts and Rs 4,500 it cash were lost it the fire.
