Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya inaugurated at Kangpokpi

KANGPOKPI, February 17: Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya of Kangpokpi, Senapati-II was inaugurated by Kangpokpi MLA Nemcha Kipgen on Monday.

The MLA who graced the inaugural function as the chief guest unveiled the inauguration stone in the presence of Kanggui Additional DC DK.Thangboi Haokip and Deputy Commissioner Pushpa Rani Verma who attended the function as the guest of honour and president respectively.

Speaking at the inaugural function, Nemcha Kipgen emphasized the importance of grassroot level education to bring quality education at the Sadar Hills.

“Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) are a system of alternate schools for gifted students in India run by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, New Delhi, an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Education, Government of India. They are fully residential and co-educational schools affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), that are specifically tasked with finding talented children in rural areas of India and providing them with an education equivalent to the best residential school systems irrespective of their family`s socio-economic condition.”

Lauding while also appreciating the efforts of those involved in the establishment of JNV Kangpokpi, Nemcha urged particularly the local civil bodies, parents and guardians besides the concern authorities in utilising the school for better and quality education in Sadar Hills.

Principal of JNV Bishnupur M.A. Muneeb pointed out that the MLA of Kangpokpi is the master brain behind the setting up of JNV Kangpokpi, Senapati-II, adding that the MLA is the ‘mother’ of quality education for all students in the state through her emphasis on grassroot level education.

Apart from local civil bodies, church leaders, JNV’s staffs and the general public, Asst.Commissioner in-charge of Silchar Cluster, Banarasi Das also attended the inaugural function.

Various dance performances and solo and group songs by the students of JNV Kangpokpi and lighting of the inaugural lamp by guests and dignitaries marked the inaugural function.
