Dated: 12-02-2014

22 year old Khusiangen S/O L. ChinKholien from T Khajang Village of Singhat Sub-Divission, Churachandpur was stabbed by a knife today at around 3:00 am on his way from a church at Saidalijab Area, Saket, South Delhi. The boy has a serious injury at lower right chest and his liver was sliced. Till now, the Saket City Hospital Authority didn’t permit anyone to meet the boy as he is under 48 hours observation. Meanwhile, The Mehrauli Police Station was found registering an FIR without informing any relatives of the victim under IPC section 394/397 i.e. Dacoity and Robbery. However after a hardship effort from MSAD, North-East Core Committee and North East Helpline supported by KSO and JNUSU, SHO Raman Lamba of Mehrauli Police Station renewed the FIR with no. 205/14 under IPC section 394/397/307 i.e. Dacoity, Robbery and Attempt to Murder. After gathering of around 50-60 students from MSAD , KSO and JNUSU at the Police Station, the team then rush to the Hospital and volunteered to have a peaceful vigil at the hospital gate which ended up with a mass rally around Saket area starting from the hospital to IGNOU road and return back again to the hospital for a group discussion. Till now, further information is waiting as the patient hasn’t spoken to anyone. The only information we got about the accuses is that the victim inform one of his friend before he was hospitalized that he might be able to remember one of the culprits who attacked him.

This is the fifth incident against the North East People in just two weeks and MSAD consider all the incidents as the act of racial discrimination. The association is all set to take any action if justice is not given to all the victims. MSAD appeals all the student associations to unite against racism.

Unity is Victory.
