Super Speciality Hospital in Imphal soon: CM

IMPHAL, February 28: State Government has the plan to set up a Super Speciality Hospital to cut down the trouble of the public to seek advance medical treatment outside the state, said Chief Minister Okram Ibobi of Government while moving the Manipur Appropriation No. 1 Bill 2014 in the fifth day of 7th session for 10th Legislative Assembly.

Amidst the growing competition of private hospital, the state government is also planning to join the race by setting up a super speciality Hospital at limited area at MSRTC campus. Taking the matter seriously the cabinet had already discussed on the feasibilities although it may take, said the CM

Apart from this, the state Government is trying to improve the health care facility in JNIMS and RIMS under special plan assistance (SPA). A sum of 35 crores will be sanction to procure the latest equipment of MRI, asserted Ibobi.

Further acknowledging the importance of human resource development, Education is the future of tomorrow, the state in the recent years gave more emphasis to these education sectors. “We have central MU, RIMS, NIT recently IIIT at was set up in Senapati for which 20 crore has been sanction for the current year. Besides that, NIT hostel has also been inaugurated”, he asserted.

He further mentioned on the benefit of the food security scheme wherein 87 percent will provide the benefits to those under the below poverty line and also the land used policy wean away the culture of jhum cultivation with horticulture etc.

Both the Manipur Appropriation Bill 1 and 2 was passed by the house unanimously after observation made by the opposition leader Dr Ibohanbi, Th Shyamkumar MLA Andro.
