Various political parties demand EVMs with VVPAT system in LS polls

<![CDATA[IMPHAL, February 15: The non-Congress non-BJP political parties of Manipur has today demanded to use Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) having the facility of Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) it the coming 16th Lok Sabha election and to hold both the elections of the outer and inter Manipur parliamentary seats simultaneously on same day.

During a press conference held at Irawat Bhavan, BT Road, the above statement was stated by Dr M Nara Singh (CPI) who is contesting Lok Sabha election for inter Manipur parliamentary seat as commot catdidate of the non-Congress non-BJP parties.

Dr Nara further atnounced that a Core Committee of the non-Congress non-BJP parties comprising of 11 members has been formed with the following person viz. Dr M Nara Singh representing Communist Party of India, Manihar Goswami representing Janata Dal (Secular), M Tombi Singh representing Janata Dal (United), Kshetrimayum Santa representing Communist Party of India (Marxist), L Thoiret representing Communist Party of India, Kh Gyaneshor representing Forward Block, N Kabita Devi representing Bahujan Samaj Party, N Ratat representing RSP, S Samungou representing Shiv Sena, L Seth representing Public Democratic Alliance and Lingjalet Haokip representing Janata Dal (United) respectively.

The CPI (M) state secretariat member Kshetrimayum Santa has been elected as the convenor of the Core Committee of the political front. Besides this, Dr Nara atnounced that the Core Committee will make an official enquiry on the unofficial petrol price hike in Manipur.

The Core Committee also demanded at anti racial law so as to contend the racial discrimination in national capital towards NE people, Dr Nara continued and further added that the commot catdidate for non-Congress Not BJP for the outer Manipur parliamentary seat will be soot atnounced probably on February 18.
