IMPHAL, March 5: A combined team of Manipur police commandos comprising of Thoubal, Imphal East and Imphal West district, today conducted a massive operation at Saikul area and Thoubal district, in an attempt to rescue the two non-local labourers who was abducted by armed miscreants from Somarei area of March 2.
However, the rescue mission could not bear any fruit with the abductors reportedly shifted their hideout owing before the advancement of the troops.
The Thoubal District Commando comprises of DSP, N Jotin, Imphal West Commando SDPO Ibomca, Officer incharge of Imphal East Commandos, DSP (Ops) Thoubal, Y Chandramani, OC commando Thoubal Anand.
A reliable source disclosed that the labourers identified as one Ch Ajit and Devasish Mandal could have been abducted by suspected KNF (N), following which the rescue mission was conducted New Bongbal Khullen, Henjang, Napjong, Moland, Sairem, Saram.
Later the search operation was also conducted at Leirongthel bitra, Channgamtabi area Thoubal District.
