IMPHAL, Mar 27: The 26th March is celebrated as Shangshak Day being the final day of ‘The Battle of Shangshak’. To mark the occasion, a wreath laying ceremony for the fallen heroes was conducted by 16 Assam Rifles at the Shangshak war memorial. The ceremony was attended by a large number of people including serving officers, jawans and the local people. Brigadier Peeyush Pandey, VSM, Commander 10 Sector Assam Rifles, Commandant 16 Assam Rifles and other officers of HQ 10 Sector Assam Rifles were present to commemorate the ceremony, said a PRO IGAR (S) press release.
