IMPHAL, March 12: The indefinite bandh Thoubal bandh called by the JAC formed in connection with the mysterious death of 17 year old Ichal who was found hanging at her husband’s residence affected the district today.
The indefinite bandh was called since 5pm yesterday.
Commuters along the Langthabal Khunou stretch of the Imphal Moreh road were highly affected by the bandh.
It is also learnt that bandh supporters had damaged more than 10 two wheelers.
Representatives of the JAC had also met with the chief minister regarding the death following a public meeting yesterday.
However, the JAC and the CM failed to come to any conclusive solution.
The JAC further lamented that the decision to hand over Ichal’s body to her husband Rupraka Moringchan alias Mopi is unwarranted and uncalled for and that the JAC will continue will stronger form of agitation unless the concerned authorities look into their demands.
