IMPHAL, March 11: The All Manipur Sales and Distributors Association has appealed to the newspaper subscribers of the state to clear their bills before the Yaoshang festival.
A statement said it has resolved during the 26th general body meeting to charge Rs 10 as service charge per month within zero mile and Rs 15 for subscribers outside the zero mile radius or the negotiated amount between the concerned hawkers and the subscribers.
It further said that the hawkers work without holidays, unlike in other services.
The release further said that since the newspapers are distributed to the subscribers by purchasing on a daily basis from the newspaper offices, and later collect the bills on monthly basis from the subscribers, the hawkers have to invest a handsome amount.
