IMPHAL, March 24: At least four helicopters are to be used for transportation of EVM, polling personnel and for evacuating those injured during the Lok Sabha Election, 2014. This was revealed to IFP by a reliable source.
According to the source, approval to allow four helicopters to be used during the upcoming 16th Lok Sabha Election has been given.
Out of the four helicopters, two are MI 17s and another two are Chettaks. These helicopters will be used from April 7 to April 10 for transportation of EVM, polling personnel and for evacuating those grievously hurt during the poll.
Meanwhile, the general observer for inner Manipur parliamentary constituency, Chandra Bhanoo, will be here at Imphal on March 26 around 11 am, said a source.
On the same day of his visit, there will be an urgent meeting at the conference hall of outer constituency returning officer T Ranjit , the DC of Thoubal.
