JAC demands arrest of culprits

IMPHAL March 5: The Joint Action Committee formed in connection with the alleged killing of Moirangthem Ibosana whose decomposed body was found in a sack on March 4, today demanded the arrest of those involved.

The JAC this evening submitted a memorandum to the state chief minister demanding the arrest of those involved and awarding befitting punishment according to the law of the land.

37-year-old Moirangthem Ibosana’s was found in a decomposed stage along a road side from an Inter Village Road of Langthabal to Ningombam at Langthabal Phura Makhong Chingmei at around 6.30 under Singjamei Police Station Imphal west after he had remained traceless after being kidnapped by some unknown persons from Kakwa Sora Leirak.

This evening JAC members and family members were stopped in front of the Imphal General Post Office by a large presence of Imphal police from marching towards the Chief Minister Bungalow.

However, a group of representatives were allowed to proceed further and submit the memorandum.

JAC convenor S Ratan said the JAC was formed after the emergency meeting held yesterday afternoon at the Khagemba Keithel Keibung Oinam Leikai.

The resolution pass by the emergency meeting include appeal to the state government to arrest the persons involved in the heinous crime at the earliest and not to claim the body until and unless the accused persons are arrested.

It may also mention that the dead body of Ibosana is still lying in the regional Institute of medical Sciences morgue from March 2 as and unclaimed dead body till today.
