KSO Sadar Hills warns of intense agitations

KANGPOKPI, March 25: The Kuki Students` Organisation Sadar Hills today warned to impose a 24 hour total bandh which will subsequently be followed by an indefinite economic blockade along all national highways leading to the state capital within Sadar Hills if the state government failed to materialise the demands of the student body before March 27.

We resolved to launch 24 hour total bandh from midnight of March 28 if the Ibobi led government failed to come up with positive and satisfactory outcome before March 27 warned Thangminlen president of the student body.

The student body has been demanding the state government to post adequate doctors at the Community Health Centre (CHC) Kangpokpi where currently only two doctors are in service and to reinstate all the powers entitled to the addl DC Kangpokpi which has been recently cancelled as well as to rectify the term addl DC Kangpokpi to addl DC, Sadar Hills.

Thangminlen Kipgen, said the demands of the student body is the emergency needs of the people of Sadar Hills which needs immediate attention of the state government, however, the Okram Ibobi Singh led SPF government has intentionally ignored the demands.

The student body chief continued that due to non-availability of adequate doctors to attend to the indoor patients in the CHC, Kangpokpi, the emergency ward has remained closed since yesterday which has rendered tremendous inconveniences to the general public.

Various patients who need emergency treatment have to travel at least 45 kms to reach the state capital for medical attention which otherwise bears the indifferent attitude of the Ibobi government only to bad adieu to their beloved dear ones which is very unfortunate to happen asserted Thangminlen Kipgen.

On the other hand the only two doctors available at the CHC though struggling at the utmost and carrying out their duty over time could not serve the over limited patients, pointed the student body president before warning that the state government will be held responsible for any unwanted incident arising out of the government’s indifferent attitude.

Considering the festive mood of the people during Holi, the student body though hard to bear, had rendered sufficient time to the state government for immediate attention towards the demands but taking the advantages of it the government remained a mute spectator continued Thangminlen.
