IMPHAL, Mar 22: The People for Animal, Thoubal was informed on Saturday to collect a turtle from Thoubal Sabaltongba. On rushing to the spot, the PFA team found a young Malayan Box Turtle, said a release of the association.
The turtle was found by one Oken Sanasam (photographer) of Sabaltongba while cleaning a dried up drain near his kitchen garden, said the press release.
It further said that PFA saw the turtle being kept in a tub along with small fishes and plants and added that the turtle was handed over to PFA on Saturday so that it could be released at a suitable site.
Turtle feeds on dead and decaying aquatic animal and plant and help keep the water clean, it added.
