More than 70 injured in Yaoshang road mishaps

IMPHAL, March 21: Around seventy persons injured in separate road mishaps during the five days Holi festival were admitted at the casualty wards of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences and Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences casualties.

According to the information received from the police picket of both RIMS and JNIMS hospital, around 70 persons were reportedly admitted while several cases had gone unreported.

In some case, the patient has been shifted to other private hospitals for further treatment.

It may be mentioned that minors drive vehicles during the Yaoshang festival without driving licence.

Mopeds and other two wheelers are seen whizzing past during the five day long Yaoshang festival.

This IFP reporter had also witnessed the lack of proper checking minors driving vehicles, control of speed limit and passenger overloading by the concerned police at various places.
