LAMKA, March 28: Sitting Member of Parliament from the Outer seat Thangso Baite kicked off his election campaign for the 16th Lok Sabha Election with a simple flag hoisting ceremony held at his Hmar Veng, Lamka residence today.
The flag hoisting ceremony of the Congress candidate for the Outer seat was also attended by state chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh and MPCC president and dy chief minister Gaikhangam among others.
Addressing the ceremony, the party leaders echoed that the party was ready for the polls and confident of winning with the support of the people.
The flag was hoisted by chief minister O Ibobi Singh.
Deputy chief minister, Gaikhangam said that the Congress is the only stable party. It is unfortunate that leaders like Nagaland CM Nephiu Rio has been making irresponsible statements against the Congress party.
Chief minister Ibobi after hoisting the flag said communalism as propounded by others is more dangerous than an Atom bomb and all will get a befitting answer from the Congress as the BJP had recieved.
Congress is a party of all season, unlike other parties that come and go only during the election period, said Phungzathang Tonsing.
He further appealed to the MPs to take up the issue of AFSPA after their election.
Churachandpur ADC chairman, Langkhanpau Guite was also present during the function.
