No future for Nagas with Congress, says Neiphiu Rio

IMPHAL, March 29: Nagaland Chief Minister and Naga People’s Front (NPF) chief Neiphiu Rio on Saturday said that there is no future for the Nagas with the Congress while wooing voters in Tamenglong district.

He was addressing a mammoth gathering at Mini Stadium Tamenglong (lower ground) on Saturday at the election campaign for Soso Lorho, NPF’s candidate.

While claiming NPF the party of the Nagas and Soso Lorho as their candidate, Rio questioned the voters “Do you want to cast vote for you or you want to vote against you”.

Neiphiu Rio said that all the Nagas are divided and scatter in various places like Nagaland, Assam, Manipur and Arunachal and Myanmar.

Wherever Nagas are, their problems are unsolved. NPF is pursuing for historical rights, culture and identity of the Nagas, he asserted.

“There is no future for Nagas in congress, no congress leader is willing to take challenge or pain towork for the interest of the Naga people”, Neiphiu Rio said.

Expressing his shock on O Ibobi Singh, Chief Minister of Manipur, Rio said this time too, Ibobi Singh along with Ministry Home Affair (NE) incharge, Jt Secretary, Shambu Singh tried to prevent him from visiting Manipur.

He said that he had written many time to the centre not to appoint any the IAS cadres from Manipur, Assam, Nagaland in the Ministry Home Affair (NE) incharge as they are being often being misused.

“Within two months, the centre is going to change its leadership, a lesson will be taught”, Neiphiu Rio said.

He also mentioned the 28th May 2011 incident where Neiphiu Rio was denied entry to visit Manipur or launch the NPF.

Neiphiu Rio was accompanied by TR Zeliang, Cabinet Minister of Nagaland and Soso Lorho, candidature of NPF. Jangamlung Panmei, former Minister, Govt of Manipur.
