Two days training program begins at agri Versity

IMPHAL, March 28: A two days training program on ‘Extension Methodology for Enhancement of Professional skills of Field Functionaries’ was conducted by the Directorate of Extension Education Central Agriculture University (CAU) today at the conference hall of CAU.

Dr M Rohinikumar Singh, director of Research CAU attended the programme as the chief guest while Dr Sarbjit Singh Nagar, Director of Instruction CAU, Dr JM Laishram, Dean College of Agriculture were the guest of honours and Dr M Premjit Singh, Director of extension Education CAU was the function president.

Addressing his chief guest speech, Dr M Rohinikumar observed that even as many new technologies have been introduced in the agriculture sector yet several farmers in the state are practising the old method.

Suggesting the farmers to adopt the modern ways of farming, he further appealed the farmers attend in awareness programme organised in this connection to reap maximum benefit of the modern technologies.

Sarbjit Singh Nagar noting the mushrooming of small scale farming suggested the farmer to be aware of the managements of the new technologies to yield maximum production.  

JM Laishram also urged the researcher to take strong initiative to bridge the gap with the farmers to equip the farmers with better technical know-how to boost productivity.

Meanwhile, a workshop on “Multiplication of Citrus under protected structure” of the workshop was conducted by the Precision Farming Development Centre (PFDC) at the same venue.

K Kipgen, Addl. Director of Horticulture was the chief guest, M Rohinikumar singh, director of Research CAU was president and JM Laishram, Dean College of Agriculture CAU and Kh Ratan singh, Project Director, HMNEH, Department of Horticulture were the guest of honours respectively.

A souvenir on “Multiplication of citrus under protected structure” was also released during the function.
