ZUF issues `directive` warns against injustice to Zeliangrong

IMPHAL, March 8: The Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF), while issuing its ‘official directive’ for compliance by the people of Zeliangrong and its kin tribes, has warned that they will not remained silent spectator to the irregularities and injustice meted out to the Zeliangrong brethren.

A statement released by Izualakbe Nringme, Regional Secy. ZUF, Makuilongdi Region, said that the outfit is concerned about the inefficiencies and disorders prevailing in the Zeliangrong region covering Assam, Manipur and Nagaland which caused immense hardships to the wanting populace.

Urging any irregularity of concerned staff of their respective government or non-governmental institution should be improved instantly, failing which it warned to look into it without compunction.

Further alleging that the Government Department are for so long failing to deliver the goods to the targeted people, it divulged that ZUF will not remained a silent spectator any more.

“The ZUF will pull up those responsible for the misappropriation of the public fund positively”, it confided.

Therefore, the Front shall await better result in the coming days to yield better fruit in all the developmental agencies in the hilly region.

Meanwhile, it maintained that the Zeliangrong customary law and traditional culture inherited from ancestors should be adhered to strictly. “Any disputes should be settled within the villages by customary laws and traditional practices even the criminal cases no parties should approach alien courts of law which are expensive, complicated, lengthy and unreliable or counterproductive to end in communal hatred”, it continued.

At the same time, it also urged to maintain secularism and religious tolerance to uphold the social harmony as in the past adding that no one should be offended in the name of religion and every religious sects or denomination should be equally respected.
