ADC, Jiribam appeals against spreading rumours

JIRIBAM, April 20: Under the instruction of ADC, Jiribam Dr Harmit Singh Pahuja, a team led by ASSO Th Mani Singh along with O Biken Singh Mandon, Jiri Police, representative of Hilghat GP and Jiribam media persons went to the Boroikhal village today.

However, on reaching the village, it was found to be deserted with no evidence of the village being burnt down or dismantled. The search party was organised after a meeting at the ADC office was held yesterday.

Meanwhile, a notice put out by the ADC Jiribam has warned against spreading of false rumours or propaganda and further appealed to the people to take up their complaints at their nearby Police stations.

Meanwhile, a sit in protest was held by the Ngamkhei Kanba Lup, Jiribam in front of the Jiribam Govt. Higher Secondary school today since 10 am. Villagers of Boroikhal and Sabhughat also took part in the protest.

The protesters demanded protection of their villages and to find the perpetrators.

The protestors condemned the Lamkhai Bazaar fire incident and further demanded the Additional SP of Jiribam to be transferred.

A leader of the NKL appeals to the concerned authorities to send back the villagers to their respective villages and to solve the boundary dispute in the earliest.
