All community leaders meeting resolves to work for communal harmony

JIRIBAM, April 21: The Ngmkhei Kanba Lup, Jiribam has today taken lifted the demand for the transfer or termination of Addl SP, Jiribam following an agreement reached with the police officer.

Following the agreement, a meeting of all community leaders and others with the sub-disivion administration was held on the present issue uprising out of the border dispute between villagers of Tamenglong and Jiribam today at the office of the Addl DC, Jiribam.

The meeting which was held around 1pm was also attended by leaders of UCM, UPF, NIPCO, NKL, ZYF and leaders of Kuki and Hmar communities.

During the meeting, the leaders decided to jointly work to bring a solution to the issue and bring communal harmony in the area.

The meeting also resolved to send back the villagers of Boroikhal and Sabhugat villages who have been living at relief camps in Jiribam.

Meanwhile, the Office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner/DEO, Jiribam has said in a press release that the ADC appealed on behalf of the State that every citizen of the

Sub-Division should maintain peace and tranquillity and to be aware of any false rumours or propaganda that may be cohered to by individual/s with vested interest.

Also in public interest, section 144 of the CrPC is already in force and it is the duty of all citizens to help the State in the upkeep of order and normalcy.

Along with help provide by the State Machinery, citizens are however, free to approach nearby police station or the office of the ADC and expect the citizens to help and support in larger interest of public and State said the Additional Deputy Commissioner/DEO, Jiribam.
