ATSUM deplores declining library culture in the state

KANGPOKPI, April 26: Gone are the days, when one visits a library for references and guidance.

Infact the library culture is gradually dying in our state asserted ATSUM while appealing to the state Government to consider the appeals of LISSAM in developing library culture among the student community of the state.

The state Government should initiate proper policy and program and avoid neglecting LISSIM`s demand if it is genuine said Kakam Haokip, education secretary, ATSUM.

The apex tribal student body in the meantime clarified that ATSUM has never contacted any contractors nor demanded any percentage from the construction work under RMSA while adding that if anyone under the guise of ATSUM has demanded any percentage, the office of ATSUM at New Lambulane may be contacted anytime.

However, the student body asked the contractors to maintain quality in the construction of school building under RMSA and urged the government to release the necessary funds accordingly and on time to the contractors who had completed the construction work by maintaining proper quality.

On behalf of the student body, Kakam Haokip expressed gratitude to the state Government for its positive response with regards to Additional English issue by extending it till 2016 Examination which may be extended again if all tribal dialect are not properly developed and recognized while extending the last date of form submission till May 15 without late fine.

In the meantime, while the ATSUM congratulates all the successful candidates in the recently declared MCSCCE specially the topper Lh Ngathingshim of Teinem Village, Ukhrul and all candidates who qualified under open category, wished them success in life.
