Chandel all set for April 9 voting

IMPHAL, Apr 7: All preparation for the April 9 polling in Outer constituency in Chandel district has been completed. A Media Centre, Election Control Room, Expenditure Control Room and a Call Centre have also been established to help the general public during the upcoming Outer Manipur Constituency Election, informed a press statement of the DIO/Chandel.

Further according to the statement, 41 Chandel (ST) AC has 59 polling stations, and the 42 Tengnoupal AC has 62 polling stations, totalling 131 polling stations in the district.

It said, 42 Chandel has 19,830 male voters and 21,277 female voters, a total of 41,107 voters, while, the Tengnoupal AC has a total of 42,586 voters of which 21,132 are male voters and 21,454 are female voters.

Of the 131 polling stations 21 stations are hyper sensitive, 42 are sensitive and 62 are normal, it said.

A total of 720 polling personal with 10% reserved are identified for the election. Along with six BSF companies, two CRPF companies, 279 district police personnel, 200 home guards, 270 VDFs and an extra 200 Thoubal VDF are stationed for security, it said.

In 41 Chandel, the polling station with the highest total of voters having 1163 voters is 41/14, while the area with the least polling stations is 42/30 Phiral Khulle with a total of just 176 voters.

In 42 Tengnoupal 42/3 Heinoubok has 1120 voters becoming the polling station with the highest voters and 42/39 Khongkhang has least voters with a total of just 231 whereas 42/59 New Mamtal has a total of just 170 voters.
