Chanura Microfin observes foundation day

IMPHAL, April 4: The Seventh Foundation Day Celebration of the Chanura Microfin, Manipur was held on Friday at Lamyanba Shanglen,Place Compound.

General manager and officer-in-charge of the Regional Office of NABARD in Manipur M Soren was the chief guest while chairman of Chanura Microfin Kh Yaiskul Singh was the president with member of Manipur State Commission for Women Hodam Piteswori Devi and general secretary of Senior Citizens for Society Laishram Sadananda Singh taking part as the guests of honour.

The best office assistant award was bagged by Sanabam Lata Devi while the best field officer award went to Irom Bebita. Sarangthem Saratchandra Singh was conferred with the best branch manager award while the best employee of the year went to Mandakini Wangkheirakpam. They had selected 10 Emas of the Ima Market are Laishram Keinya Devi, Arambam Keinahanbi, Thoudam Pasot, Nongmaithem Ibempishak Devi, Sairem Shija Devi, Huidrom Agni Devi and Yambem Thabal Devi.

Chanura Microfin’s CEO PK Khuman said that Chanura Microfin had provided lots of facilities in seven years.

“It had given benefits to 20,000 families. Solar energy programs were also given to many families since 2009. Smoke-less stoves were also distributed to people. Financial loans were also given to people.”

He said that Chanura also helped the people who suffered from floods by distributing products to the people.

Mandakini said that Chanura Microfin was working by following the guidelines of the RBI.

“Chanura Microfin after benefitting the Imas wants to provide their husbands with benefits. We want to provide jobs to those men.”
