IMPHAL, April 24: The family members of the 12-year-old girl who was found death hanging inside her residence at around 11pm in Keirao Bitra Awang Leikai under Irilbung Police Station claimed her dead body after a post mortem at JNIMS morgue Thursday afternoon.
Briefing the media at JNIMS morgue, a family member of the deceased, a student of class six at Irilbung High School, identified as Ngangbam Ichan Chanu alias Sonia, daughter of Tombi said: “Around 8.30 pm on yesterday, the girl was called by her mother for dinner while she was watching television on her neighbouring uncle’s residence but she told her mother that she wasn’t hungry and went inside her room. All the family members except her after finishing their dinner went to watch a movie in the same neighbour’s residence.”
Continuing that when the girl’s mother went inside her room to sleep she found her daughter hanging in a bed with a Chuni, the family member said that nothing was amiss between the family members which could have led the 12-year-old girl to take such an extreme step and she didn’t have any bad relations with others in the locality.
The family suspect the handiwork of some unknown person who might have killed the girl when all the family members were watching television in the neighbourhood.
