IMPHAL, April 7: Unidentified persons suspected to be cadres of a militant group today lobbed a hand grenade at the residence of Sapam Ranjan candidate of the Indian National Congress candidate from Konthoujam Assembly Constituency in the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly election.
The grenade exploded near the residential gate of Sapam Ranjan son of (L) S Budhichandra ex-speaker of Manipur Legislative Assemble, at Konthoujam.
However, there has been no report of any casualty.
Soon after the incident, a team of Patsoi police rushed to the site and took stock of the spot and took up a case regarding the incident.
