JIRIBAM, April 18: A joint meeting, including important government functionaries, representatives of civil organisation and Boroikhal and Sabhughat, villagers was convened today at the auditorium of Jiribam Govt Higher Secondary School.
An all community meeting will also be convened tomorrow to discuss the issue.
Meanwhile, the Ngamkhei Kanba Lup, Jiribam has charged O Menjor Singh, Adl SP of Jiribam Police of assaulting four locals Boroikhal, who are presently taking shelter at Jiribam.
It may be mention that the villagers of Boroikhal and Sabhughat including women and children are presently taking refuge at Jiribam following disturbance at their respective villages from a different community.
Gram Panchayat Member of Hilaghat, ward No. 1, Dr Harmit Singh Pahuja, ADC of Jiribam; W Syam Singh, Adl Director FCS; H Dhananjoy, SDC; Th Mani Singh, ASSO Settlement along with the members of Ngamkhei Kanba Lup and different voluntary organisations of Jiribam discussed on the problem faced by the locals of Boroikhal and Sabhughat.
Dr Harmit, ADC lauded the locals for maintaining tranquility. He said that the matter will be conveyed to the higher authority concern. A joint meeting with all community leaders will also be convened tomorrow, he added.

The action of the police officer could hamper the meeting of all community meeting, maintained the Lup.
All four have been however released by the police officer, the NKL said.
Decrying the incident, it has said that it will not take part in Saturday’s meeting.
