KYKL sends out greetings on its 20th anniversary

IMPHAL, April 24: The chairman of the Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), in a statement has extended its greeting to people of Manipur including the WESEA, party members of the CorCom, in connection with the 20th anniversary of the outfit which falls on April 25.

Sharing its thoughts on the present course of the people and revolutionary movement, it claimed that Manipur society today has gradually failed to confront the myriad issues plaguing the state.

Despite knowing the fact that the Manipuris are being subjected to ‘demographic invasion’ at an alarming rate, there are no visible measures to counter the menace, it said.

It further claimed that the Manipuri society today have lost its pristine glory in which the society was build upon like culture of work, self respect, integrity etc and instead heading towards a bleak future without identity based on ‘exclusive-ism’.

Given the circumstances, it observed Manipur’s participation in the globalisation race is a distant dream.

Referring to the deteriorating condition of the Manipuri society, it maintained that Manipur never came under such circumstances adding that it blamed the colonial rule and its economic policy for such chaos.

It further observed that in order to rescue Manipur from the sinister design of the colonial rule, the people must challenge its economic policy of the colonial regime and strive for self sustenance.
