MTCSU condemns, expresses gratitude to CSOs

KANGPOKPI, April 24: The Manipur Theological College Students` Union today came up with the strongest condemnation over the alleged burning down of the college’s upper floor on the intervening night of April 19 destroying properties worth more than Rs.1.20 Crore.

Terming the incident, most unfortunate as well as horrific, the student body said we are intensely shock and speechless.

All the college students are on summer vacation besides practical work, said Rinchui, chief of the student body before she continued that we feel deeply unfortunate for not being present on the particular night due to the summer vacation and practical work.

The student body in the meantime wholeheartedly expressed profound gratitude to all individuals, departments, organisations, etc. who have rendered every possible efforts in putting off the fire on that particular night thought it was beyond control, added Rinchui.

She also expressed her heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the student body particularly to Kuki Students` Organization Sadar Hills for their tremendous contribution concerning the value of the theological students’ future career.

While lauding all the CSOs involved in rendering every available efforts in their capacity for the welfare of the student and the college, Rinchui further urged undying support and cooperation from every section in restoring the lost properties and building at the earliest in the interest of the student community.

The student body also appeal the Manipur Baptist Convention, College Board and Council to initiate all possible measures to ensure that the next session of the college begins as schedule.

Presently more than 50 theological students from various communities are pursuing their career in the field of theology in various courses at the college.
