IMPHAL,April 2: We will not vote for the Congress if the government did not provide appointment letters to the selected candidates of SI/JAM 2010 batch. This was stated by the president of the association of SI/JAM selected candidates of 2010 batch, Thounoujam Sanjeeb during a mass protest held at Thangmeiband, opposide the THAU Ground.

The president of the association said that on March 24 they had organised a press meet at Manipur Press Club and presented seven days notice to fulfill their demand to the government but till date they didn’t get any response so they were organising the mass protest on Wednesday.

He added that the government announced the recruitment of SI/JAM on 2010 and the r viva voce results were out in 2013 but till date the government didn’t provide appointment letters. Minus the wait-listed candidates, 344 are selected for the post of which 272 are in touch with the association. He further added that if the government didn’t want to appoint than why they conducted the recruitment drive. He also accused the government of neglecting the youth.

If we are appointed by the government than we are going to be the protectors of law so we don’t want to protest with violence, if the government doesn’t respond in time we will be forced to protest with violence, he asserted.
