Annoyed SDSA questions quality of highway repairing work

SENAPATI, May 18: The Senapati District Students’ Association (SDSA) is not pleased with the quality of repair and maintenance work of the National Highway 2.

Expressing resentment on the alleged sub-standard works with poor quality of the asphalt mix resulting in many potholes in some portions of the highway in between Senapati and Maram, even after the completion of the work, the Senapati District Students’ Association (SDSA) has questioned the concerned department, work agency/contractors as to why they couldn’t maintain quality in the work.

It also stated that SDSA is fully committed to quality maintenance of road repairing which is the lifeline of the State, for which it has been appealing all concerned organisations/groups including militant groups not to disturb the ongoing works.

Our commitment has been fully supported by the general public and can’t be ignored nor compromised at any cost, the student body asserted.

Therefore, the SDSA demands those in-charge of the repairing works to do repair works honestly and to properly utilise the sanctioned fund in the interest of the general public, and failing which SDSA shall take up any democratic form of agitation.

And the department/Work agencies concerned shall be responsible for any untoward circumstances, it said.
