ATSUM reminds govt of demands

IMPHAL, May 25: With two more days left for the state government of Manipur to address pending issues agreed between the All Tribal Students’ Union, Manipur (ATSUM), Tombing group and the state government of Manipur, the tribal students’ body today reminded the chief minister on the agreement.

ATSUM-Tombing in its reminder to the chief minister has said it will resort to stern form of agitation if the agreement is not materialised by May 25.

The ATSUM demands are to improve the health and educational facilities in Manipur hill districts, modification or alteration of the existing 200 point rosters, appointment of backlog vacancies in GAD, cancellation of piecemeal recruitment drive in Manipur legislative assembly secretariat, effective governance in Manipur hill districts, transfering of land records, police jurisdiction, among others.
