Man held with illegal drug in possession: Police

IMPHAL, May 27: Acting on a credible information about the possession of illegal drugs by a man identified as Md Sagir Ahmed alias Abo, 26, son of Md Abdulhei of Lilong Kaleikhong near NH 102, a police team of the Lilong PS conducted raid at the house of the individual, said a press statement of the PRO, Police.

It said during the raid, 12800 numbers of N-10 tables, 106907 numbers of SP capsules and one Electronic weighing machine and a sum of Rs 172090 in cash were seized from the possession of Md Sagir.

The approximate market value of the seized drugs is Rs 35 lakhs, it said while announcing that members of the Anjuman Islah-E-uashrah, Lilong assisted the police in the operation.

A case has been registered with the concerned Lilong police.

Meanwhile, based on specific information, police teams of NAB-PB seized 8880 numbers of SP capsules from the unauthorised possession of Md Amar Shah, 20, son of Iliyas Ahmed of Thoubal Moijing Makha Leikai, who was arrested from Chingmeirong Khongnang Ani Karak, near City Hospital, it said.

The press statement also said that the approximate market value of the seized drugs is Rs 90000 and a case has been registered at the Narcotics and Affairs of Border Police Station and investigation is going on.
