Imphal, May 30: In a press hand out signed by Nonglen Meitie, secretary publicity and propaganda of the proscribed Maoist Communist Party Manipur has clarified that the party has nothing to do with the bomb blast that occurred in Singjamei May 29.
The statement said the blast could be a handy work of some vested interest group with the intention of showing Manipur in a poor light. It further termed the incident as a sinister design of the state.
The party takes serious note of the incident that took place at Ikop Pat, it said, adding, the incident could be blown out of proportion if it is not properly handled, therefore, the party will give serious attention to it.
It further said that license gun holders who are misusing their weapons will be under the scanner of the party.
