MFDC to screen award winning films of Mumbai International Film Fest

IMPHAL, May 18: The Manipur Film Development Corporation in collaboration with the Films Division, Government of India is organising a festival from May 20- 22 at the MFDC complex.

Speaking at the press conference, MFDC managing director Dr K Sobita Devi said that during the festival award winning films of the 13th Mumbai International Film Festival 2014 will be screened free of cost.

The purpose of the festival is to showcase the best selected films in the state, she said, adding that this will be a good chance for the state film-lovers and directors.

She pointed out that the festival, the third of its kind in the state will be the right platform to highlight the award winning films.

Branch manger of Film Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Sumay Mukherjee said that the Mumbai International Film Festival was organised to serve as a platform for the documentary film makers to showcase their films.

Award winning films of MIFF, 2014 will be screened in the state along with the other films in contention as a special package and such documentaries are very rare and they provide messages to the masses, he stated.

During the festival, award winning documentary films such as Tamaash (The Puppet), Manipur Pony, Accident, Thang-Ta, Keli, Are You Listening, Nupishabi, Golden Mango, Kacho Gulado, Loktak Lake – Our Soul, Feather, Moreh: The Eastern Gate, Black Rock, Seven Hundred Zero Zero Seven, Evolution of Ras Lila in Manipur, Celluloid Man, In Between, Have You Seen the Arana, Fire in Blood, Invoking Justice, 9×9, True Love Story, Life After, Guru Birjit Ngangomba will be screened.
