Missing girl found dead

IMPHAL, May 6: A seven year old girl missing since Monday afternoon was found dead lying in a pool of blood with cut marks on her face this evening around 5.30.

The body was found inside a bush growing at her uncle’s compound at Thoubal Mojing Wangma Taba Khongbal Leikai.

The girl is identified as seven-year-old Simaran, daughter of (L) Md Doctor of Thoubal Moijing Wangma Taba Khongbal Leikai.

The injuries on her face are suspected to be made by a hard object.

Her lifeless body was found during a massive search launched by the locals, from the residential compound of her father’s younger brother identified as Md Abdul Noor, 44, son of Abdul Manan.

Angry locals suspecting Md Abdul Noor to have committed the crime, as he has remained untraceable ever since the incident, dismantled and burnt down his house, late this evening.

Yesterday the body was not at the place where it was found today. Now ever since the recovery of the body, the uncle who is a drug addict has been missing, lamented a local while adding that the earrings of the little girl were missing.

The body has been picked up by a police team and deposited at the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences for post mortem after a team of the state forensic expert team conducted inquest of the dead body and the area where it was found at around 9.pm.
