MPP women’s wing organises one day political class

IMPHAL, May 17: The Manipur People’s Party, Chanura Marup organised a one day political class at the party’s office, Imphal today.

The one day political class was attended by president MPP, N Sobhakiran Singh, vice president, MPP (O) Jugindro Singh, vice president, MPP M Amutombi Singh, vice president, MPP N Ojit Singh, president MPP and former dy CM Dr L Chandramani, social activist Sapamacha Jadumani, social activist M Churamani Meetei, convenor, NEHRDC Genine Laishramcha, president, AMUCO Dr Mani as resource persons.

Giving the key-note address of the program, N Sobhakiran Singh said that the seminar is being organised mainly to disseminate awareness on politics among the people.

Quoting Albert Einstein, he said “Science without religion is blind and religion without Science is lame.”

He further added that to bring about a change and welfare of the society, the regional parties need to understand the need and requirements of the people.

However, the parties cannot do the work on their and need support from the public and other social leaders, he asserted.

Jugindro Singh said that the main objective of the day was to discuss and seek advice from those present today.

He continued the MPP’s main concern is to take up the social issues confronting the state including women’s issues, Inner Line Permit, AFSPA, territorial integrity, and to bring peace and unity in the state.

Meanwhile, former dy Chief Minister Dr L Chandramani spoke on the party’s history.

Sapamcha Jadumani spoke on the Inner Line Permit (I.L.P), Churamani Meetei elaborated on land use policy to save the territorial integrity of the state.
