IMPHAL, May 27: The Mate Tribe Union in its general body meeting held on May 22 at its head-quarter, Tengnoupal has resolved to unanimously extend the term of the existing MTU (GHQ) for a further term of three years with effect from May 22, 2014 to May 22, 2016.
The meeting was participated by all the Executive Committee members of the union, constituent executive committee members of all the blocks including intellectuals, social workers, chiefs and many others, it said.
A press release of the union has said that further during a meeting, held on May 23, MTU resolved to congratulate the successful candidates of the Mate students who fared well in Hr. Sec and HSLC results.
While acknowledging Dr HH Mate for being the most imminent awardee among the Mates, the meeting also resolved to extend heartfelt congratulations to the Mate candidates for their recent successful achievements in their chosen profession, it said.
