Student not a trading commodity: Association

IMPHAL, May 22: The All Manipur Recognised Private Schools’ Welfare Association has appealed on Thursday to all concerned that education as well as students of the state should not be considered as trading commodities by private schools.

The above remark was conveyed in a press release issued by the secretary of the association L Joy on the backdrop of the prevailing scenario of the post result out of the class X examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur.

It said that certain private schools have advertised in the local dailies that they have admitted some of the top rankers of the Class X exam in a bid to attract other students by using the ranked students as bait, whereas the students are yet to get their necessary documents from the board.

It further said that such exercise is nothing but a move to befool the parents as well as the students by considering that both the education and students as trading commodities, it said.

It also appealed the parents of the students not to be trapped in their move to turn education along with valued students of the state as trading material for their selfish end and further congratulated all the successful students in just result out Board and Council Exams and also encouraged those unsuccessful students for a best attempt in the next exam, it said.
