KANGPOKPI, June 19: In view of the developing and easy accessibility of health care centres in the State particularly in delivery case even for people from remote areas, the State Health Mission under National Rural Health Mission is all set to make all the 85 Primary Health Centre in the State functional 24×7 with delivery services before Christmas.
A team of medical officials led by Dr Okram Ibomcha, director, State Health Mission (NRHM) today paid a visit to some of the health centres in Senapati district to collect firsthand account of the health centres as well as its working systems particularly in delivery case.
Speaking on the sideline of the visit Dr O Ibomcha stated that the operation theatre in district hospital Senapati is not functional even after its inauguration.
Therefore we discuss the matter today and it will be made functional shortly, he said.
The State Health Mission director also said “Under NRHM Gap Analysis we are trying our best to bridge the gap in health care related issues and to reduced home delivery by the people due to various reason including lack of awareness particularly in hill district we will implemented delivery point in all possible place and solved the problems one by one.”
He continued that many district hospitals in the State where delivery service were not functional due to various defects where made functional 24×7 after remodelling and renovation.
Thoubal and Churachandpur district hospital rendered remarkable health service including delivery service in the State while Thoubal has been quoted as the most beautiful and clean district hospital, he said. Churachandpur district hospital has been quoted as the best district hospital in India after remodelling its defects in the past under NRHM said the State Health Mission Director.
Dr O Ibomcha further said that all the 85 Primary Health Centres in State will be delivery accessible before Christmas while around 421 Primary Health Sub Centres will also be delivery accessible in selection basis one by one shortly.
He also said that we are trying to install all necessary infrastructures in all delivery point once it has been established.
The visit team also paid a visit to Saitu Gamphazol PHC, Motbung PHC and Leimakhong PHC as well.
Dr O Ibomcha said that Saitu Gamphazol PHC will be made 24×7 with delivery service from July 1 while Motbung PHC having been stated the delivery service we will try to install the necessary infrastructure very soon before adding that Leimakhong PHC also will be made 24×7 with delivery point soon.
