IMPHAL, June 11: The All Manipur Working Journalist’s Union strongly condemned the assault towards the staff-reporter Dhanabanta Loukrakpam by Pheiroijam Naocha alias Nanao at the intervening night of June 10 and 11. AMWJU takes assault very seriously.
Dhanabanta Loukrakpam, a staff-reporter of Poknapham newspaper was brutally assaulted by Nanao, 30, s/o, Pheiroijam Subol of Sagolband Bijoygovinda Mamang Leikai, despite showing his identity card while returning home from work and even attempted to steal his belonging.
In this regard, the AMWJU has registered a case at the Imphal Police Station and a notification was sent to the Home Minister-Gaikhangam as well. It also appealed to the people of the state not to cause any harm to the journalists of the state said the Joint Secretary of AMWJU in a press release.
