IMPHAL, June 25: A student of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences was found hanging inside his room at Boys Hostel No 4 from a ceiling fan.
The medical student has been identified as Benjamin Lalkhala Muwana, 25, son of (L) Lalwan Sanga of Chanmari Aizwal, Mizoram was in the sixth semester.
He was found hanging with a piece of cloth inside his room around 1.50pm by other hostellers who informed the authorities and the police.
Police later arrived and took down the body and after an inquest of the room and the body shifted it to the RIMS morgue around 4pm.
Later the post mortem of the body was conducted at the morgue and the police have filed a case in this regard.
Meanwhile, students of the institute refused to reply to media queries on the incident.
